Aside from adding warmth to a room, the best part about having a fireplace is the mantel you get to decorate! And even if you don’t have a hearth of your own, you can still create a mantel-like display with a shelf or console table and a little bit of creativity. It takes minimal time and effort to get your space ready for autumn; a simple garland, some candles, and a few small pumpkins from the farmer’s market is a great starting point. Take a look at these eight Halloween mantel decorating ideas that each express fall style in a unique way.

Black & White

This black and white mantelscape has the perfect amount of spook in it with its large spiders, witch cutout, and branchy tree. The TomKat Studio added lace-embellished candles and a fancy font banner to create a more glam look.

A Kailo Chic Life shows that you don’t have to stick to traditional colors when decorating, rather, use the whole spectrum! The vivid pumpkin mantel decor pops off the crisp white mirror and woodwork, completed with a leafy garland that ties the scene together.

If traditional is more your style, The TomKat Studio knows how to craft a festive and modern mantel. The 3D pumpkin art, ghostly pillar candles, and faux spider webs emulate spooky vibes in contemporary fashion. Take note of the “3” and “1” mugs atop a cake stand – scarily creative!

This mantel from Make & Do Studio highlights one of the best parts of halloween: candy! The teal and striped pumpkins, pompoms and tassel art further add to the fun. A bat cutout garland keeps the eclectic pieces cohesively framed.

Tricolor Woodland

Hey Let’s Make Stuff chose a unique color palette and rustic elements for this mantelscape, such as a a laser-cut leaf banner, a fringe pillow, and wooden mushroom sculptures. The teal, green and yellow scheme is brought full-circle with a whimsical dreamcatcher that balances an off-set watercolor painting.

This mantel styled by Apartment Therapy includes key on-trend items: a moon phase garland, a light-up word box, a modern wreath and a geometric candle holder.
